School Values

School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is a whole-school approach topositive behaviour support that ensures that the school creates and maintains a positive and safe learning environment. SWPBS enhances school culture and maximises engagement, supports well-being academic growth.

Our Vision

Our vision statement is a declaration of our purpose and objectives, and it guides our decision making. Our vision at Hume Valley School is to create an inclusive, safe, respectful, and engaged learning community where all students are motivated and enabled to maximise their social, personal, educational and post-school potential.

Our Values

Hume Valley School is committed to implementing a whole school approach to Positive Behaviour Support for engagement and learning. Our approach aligns academic and behavioural systems to create an emphasis on explicitly teaching, monitoring, and reinforcing appropriate behaviour. We use a behaviour matrix to teach our three values:

Respect – We think about others, not just ourselves.

Responsibility – We think about decisions before we act.

Resilience – We know things can be hard, but we don’t give up.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to create a vibrant learning community where students are valued and the educational programs enable them to reach their full potential. We focus on developing literacy, numeracy, social competency, and vocational skills to assist our students in leading successful lives. Students are supported by a committed multi-disciplinary team, who collaborate to develop the students as life-long learners. We strive to continually create specific and personalised teaching and learning programs in line with evidence-based practice in a safe and supportive environment.
